Security Exhibition & Conference Stand Builders

The Security Exhibition & Conference 2027 runs from 25 to 27 August in Halls 6 and 7 at ICC Sydney, alongside Fire Security Expo and Integrate Expo. The 2026 show drew more than 7,800 visitors and 120 exhibitors. Brij & Co builds stands for security brands from our workshop in Ingleburn, 45 minutes from Darling Harbour, with demo walls designed for working cameras, readers and alarm panels.

About the show

The Security Exhibition & Conference is run by Diversified Communications Australia in partnership with ASIAL, the Australian Security Industry Association, which runs the conference program. Exhibitors cover access control, biometrics, CCTV, cyber security, alarms, locks and safes, smart home and networking. For 2027 the organiser promotes access to 14,500 professionals across the three co-located shows.

Visitors are installers, integrators, consultants and end users from government and corporate security. They come to see products working, not to read brochures, and most will ask to see the back end of a system as well as the hardware.

Show hours in 2027 are 9:30am to 5:30pm on Wednesday and Thursday, and 9:30am to 4:00pm on Friday.

Designing for live demonstrations

A security stand is mostly a working installation. Cameras need mounting points at realistic heights and a clear field of view across the stand. Card readers, intercoms and door hardware need a real door frame or a full-height wall section to be fixed to. Monitors showing the video management software need to sit where a visitor can watch the feed and the camera at the same time.

We build demo walls with concealed cable runs, removable service panels and a lockable comms cupboard for switches, NVRs and power. Everything is wired and tested in our workshop, so on move-in day your technical team only has to connect and configure.

Stand options at Security Expo

Space only, custom built

A stand designed around your product range, with demo walls, meeting space and storage. Best for 18m² and up where you want to control the whole layout.

Shell scheme upgrade

The organiser offers shell scheme packages. We can add custom graphics, shelving and a demo wall inside the shell so a small stand still looks like your brand.

Modular and reusable

A modular stand with swappable graphics suits brands that also exhibit at Integrate or state security events.

Key dates to plan around

Based on the 2026 exhibitor manual. The 2027 manual will set exact dates.

  1. About 8 weeks out. The space-only stand design and build form, along with builder and contractor inductions, is due. Your design needs to be final by this point.
  2. About 2 weeks out. Rigging orders close. Hanging signs must be designed, engineered and ordered before then.
  3. Move-in. We install, connect power and test demo equipment so your team can configure systems before doors open.
  4. Move-out. Equipment is packed and returned first, then the stand is dismantled and the reusable parts stored.

Security Expo Sydney: halls, hours and co-located shows

Security Expo, the short name most people use for the Security Exhibition & Conference, is held on Level 4 of ICC Sydney in Halls 6 and 7. It shares the floor with Fire Security Expo and Integrate Expo, the audiovisual and integration show, so visitors often move between all three. That cross-traffic is worth designing for: a stand that makes sense to an AV integrator as well as a security installer gets more conversations.

ICC Sydney publishes a 5 metre height limit for Halls 1 to 4 and asks that other halls be confirmed with the event manager. We confirm the limit for Halls 6 and 7 with the organiser before we draw anything tall, such as a hanging sign or a raised demo tower.

Ideas for a security exhibition stand

Put the visitor on camera

A camera trained on the aisle with the live feed on a large screen is the oldest trick at a security show because it works. People stop to see themselves, and that is your opening.

A real door

Access control is easier to sell on a working door than on a spec sheet. A full-height door set with a reader, a lock and an intercom shows the product the way the installer will fit it.

Show the software too

Integrators care about the platform as much as the hardware. A seated demo station with a large monitor lets your team walk through the interface properly.

Lock it up

Demo stock is valuable and easy to pocket. Lockable cabinets and a secure store room protect it overnight and during busy periods.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the Security Exhibition & Conference 2027?

It runs from 25 to 27 August 2027 in Halls 6 and 7, Level 4, at ICC Sydney.

When are stand plans due for Security Expo?

In 2026 the space-only design and build form was due about eight weeks before the show. Expect a similar deadline in 2027 and allow 8 to 12 weeks for a custom stand before that.

Can you mount working cameras and access control hardware?

Yes. We build demo walls with fixing points, concealed cabling, door frames and a lockable comms cupboard, and test the layout in our workshop before the show.

Is Security Expo a trade show?

Yes. It is aimed at security professionals, integrators, installers and end users, and runs alongside Fire Security Expo and Integrate Expo.

Can I hang a sign above my stand?

Rigging is ordered through the event, and orders closed about two weeks before the 2026 show. We design and supply the hanging sign and coordinate the rigging order.

What is the difference between Security Expo and the Security Exhibition & Conference?

They are the same event. Security Expo is the common name for the Security Exhibition & Conference, run by Diversified Communications Australia with ASIAL.

How much does a trade show booth at Security Expo cost?

For the stand itself, a custom 3m x 3m usually costs $5,000 to $15,000 and a 3m x 6m $10,000 to $25,000. Shell scheme upgrades are quoted to suit.
