Kiosk Design and Build for Shopping Centres, Events and Outdoor Sites

A kiosk has to sell from every side, lock up at night and meet the shopping centre's design rules, usually on a footprint smaller than a car park space. Brij & Co designs and builds retail and food kiosks in our own workshop, pre-assembles them before delivery, and can install outside trading hours so the centre never has a half-built kiosk in the mall.

Case study: Dulce Kiosk

For Dulce we built a freestanding shopping-centre kiosk with a marble-look counter top, dark vertical panelling, a lit plinth base and the brand logo on each face, so it reads as a brand from every direction the centre's foot traffic comes from. See the Dulce Kiosk project.

Our kiosks are built and assembled in the workshop first, so the fit of every panel, drawer and light is checked before anything goes to site.

Kiosks we design and build

Food kiosk design

Layouts built around the workflow: order, prepare, serve, with washable surfaces, sealed joints and space for the equipment and hand-wash facilities your council and centre will inspect.

Coffee kiosk fitouts

Counters sized for the machine, grinder and knock box, with cup storage within reach, a pickup point that keeps the queue moving, and power and water planned in from the start.

Cosmetic mall kiosks

Tester displays at hand height, mirrors, good even lighting and lockable stock drawers underneath.

Jewellery kiosk displays

Glass showcases with focused lighting, lockable cabinets and a counter height that suits trying pieces on.

Phone accessory and tech kiosks

Slatwall or pegboard for hanging stock, demo stations with built-in charging and secure storage for high-value items.

Outdoor kiosks

Weather-resistant materials and finishes, a lockable enclosure and a roof or awning, for markets, events and outdoor precincts.

What a shopping centre will ask about your kiosk

Centres approve kiosk designs before anything is built. We prepare the drawings with these in mind:

  1. Footprint and height. Most centres cap kiosk height so sightlines to shopfronts stay open.
  2. Open sides. Centres usually want a kiosk that is active on all sides, not a box with its back to the mall.
  3. Lock-up. How stock is secured when the kiosk is closed.
  4. Services. Where power and, for food kiosks, water and waste connect.
  5. Finishes and signage. Materials and logo sizes to the centre's design criteria.
  6. Install method. How and when the kiosk is brought in and assembled, usually outside trading hours.

Designed and built under one roof

We are both the kiosk designer and the kiosk builder. Our woodworking, CNC routing, spray painting, metalwork, electrical and vinyl printing are all in-house, so the counter, signage, lighting and graphics come from one workshop and one project manager.

That matters for kiosks because they are small and every millimetre is shared. A counter that is 20mm out means the drawer does not open past the fridge. Pre-assembling the whole kiosk in the workshop is how we find that before install night.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a kiosk designer do?

A kiosk designer plans the layout, materials, lighting, storage and branding of a kiosk, and prepares drawings for the shopping centre's approval. At Brij & Co the same team then builds and installs it.

How long does it take to build a shopping centre kiosk?

It depends on the design and on how long the centre takes to approve it. We give you a programme once drawings are approved, covering manufacture, pre-assembly and install.

Do you build food and coffee kiosks?

Yes. We design food kiosks and coffee kiosk fitouts around the workflow and equipment, with washable surfaces and space for the services your council and centre will require.

Can you build cosmetic and jewellery kiosks?

Yes. We build cosmetic mall kiosks with tester displays and mirrors, and jewellery kiosks with lit glass showcases and lockable storage.

Do you build outdoor kiosks?

Yes. Outdoor kiosks use weather-resistant materials and finishes, with a lockable enclosure and roof or awning.

Do you install kiosks after hours?

We can install outside trading hours, which most centres require, and schedule it with centre management.
