AIME Exhibition Stand Builders

AIME, the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event, runs from 15 to 17 February 2027 at MCEC in Melbourne. It is the main trade show for the business events industry in the region, with more than 800 exhibitors, over 1,600 vetted hosted buyers and more than 25,000 pre-booked meetings. Brij & Co builds AIME stands for destinations, venues, hotels and event suppliers, designed around the meetings that make up most of the show.

How AIME is different from most trade shows

AIME is owned by the Melbourne Convention Bureau and managed by Talk2 Media & Events. Knowledge Monday and the welcome event fall on 15 February, and the trade show floor runs on 16 and 17 February.

The hosted buyer program means much of your time on the stand is already booked before you arrive. Buyers move from appointment to appointment in short slots. So the stand's real job is to host back-to-back meetings comfortably, give each one a little privacy, and make your destination or venue memorable in the few minutes between them.

Designing a stand for back-to-back meetings

Count the tables first. We start with how many meetings you run at once, then size the stand around the tables. Each meeting point needs a table, three or four chairs, a screen or tablet stand and enough space that the next appointment can wait without hovering.

Acoustic separation. Halls get loud. Fabric walls, high-backed booths and soft furnishings take the edge off the noise so buyers can hear your pitch.

A sense of place. Destinations and venues sell an experience. Large backlit images of the location, local materials such as timber or stone finishes, and a hospitality bar for coffee or a regional tasting help a buyer remember which stand was yours.

Storage for a long day. Brochures, gifts, coats and bags need somewhere to go. A lockable store room keeps the meeting area clear.

AIME stand formats

The organiser offers several formats. We build for the ones that allow custom work.

Space only

A fully custom stand on raw floor space, from a single-destination stand to a multi-partner pavilion. This is where we do most of our AIME work.

Pavilions and shared stands

State and regional tourism bodies often host partner pavilions. We design a single look with individual meeting pods and branding for each partner.

Embassy and pod stands

The organiser's modular Embassy and Boutique pod formats come with a set structure. We can supply custom graphics, furniture and display pieces to suit them.

Activate stands

The 3m x 2m Activate stands suit start-ups and suppliers. A compact, well-lit graphic wall and a single meeting table go a long way.

AIME Melbourne at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre

AIME is held every February at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) on South Wharf, and it is owned by the Melbourne Convention Bureau. As exhibition stand builders for Melbourne we support AIME builds from our Melbourne production facility, with design and project management from our Sydney head office.

A February show has one planning trap: the Christmas and January shutdown. Suppliers close, freight slows and print queues fill. For AIME we aim to lock the design before Christmas, so fabrication and printing can start as soon as the trades are back in January.

What an AIME stand costs

Typical ranges for the stand, from our exhibition stand cost guide. Floor space and package fees are paid to the organiser.

Exhibition stand ideas for destinations and venues

Bring the place indoors

Materials from the destination, such as a local timber, sandstone-look finishes or a reef-blue colour palette, say more about a place than another photo of a beach.

A hospitality moment

A barista, a local wine or a regional produce tasting gives buyers a reason to arrive early for their appointment and remember it later.

Venue walk-throughs

For hotels and venues, a screen showing floor plans and a virtual tour helps a planner picture their event in your space.

Partner pavilions that still look like one

For state and regional tourism bodies, a shared canopy and colour scheme with individual pods keeps the pavilion coherent while giving each partner their own space.
